Childhood
Jason was born in South Africa in 1968. At age twelve he moved with his family to the United States. Witnessing firsthand the injustice of the apartheid system left him with a deep commitment to social justice. He has never taken for granted our country’s ideals of equality of opportunity, respect for all people, and the notion that any person can achieve success through hard work regardless of his or her background.
